My Mr. Alpha Ch 5

I’m an angel with a shotgun, shotgun, shotgun…

I’m an angel with a shotgun, shotgun, shotgun…

I turned off my alarm for the 5th time, it’s been blaring nonstop for an hour. I rolled onto the other side of the bed, trying to get comfortable again when the blasted thing started to ring again.

‘Let’s throw away your phone,’ my inner voice grumbled.

‘Yes, let’s do that. Can’t it see I am sleeping,’ I wholeheartedly agreed with the voice.

It started to ring again, even after I hit the snooze button, countless times.

I’m an angel with a shotgun, shotgun, shotgun…

I’m an angel with a shotgun, shotgun, shotgun…

Then it suddenly struck me, that wasn’t my alarm, it was my ringtone!

I scrambled to check who had called me so many times, and saw it was my parents. I had been declining their call all this time, they must have been worried.

When it rang again, I quickly picked it up.

“Hi Amma. Yes, I am fine.”

“No, I was just asleep. I reached here safely, got to my apartment.”

“Apartment?” my dad asked me.

Suddenly I was wide awake, and I understood what my sleep addled brain had made my mouth say. And, it was also then I realized that I was on the loudspeaker at their end.

“Haha, did I say apartment? I meant the hostel. Yes, I meant to say hostel. I was asleep before you called, so I must have said apartment by mistake,” I rambled on, hoping that they believe me.

‘Ok, you need to shut up before they stop believing you,’ my subconscious told me calmly.

“So, did you reach the hostel safely? It is a girl’s hostel, right? No boys around?” my dads deep voice asked me.

“Yes Nanna, it is a girl’s hostel. Boys aren’t allowed in,” I said, with my fingers crossed that they would never catch onto my lie.

“Ok beta, pick up our calls. We were a bit worried, when you didn’t.”

I replied in the affirmative. I spoke to them for a couple of minutes more, and hung up the phone.

‘Whew, disaster averted. Thanks for keeping me calm.’

‘Well, one of us had to be,’ my inner voice said smartly.

I looked at my phone, and saw that I had enough time to go to the nearest grocery store.

Donning on a jacket, I went out. I decide to walk to the nearest store, so that I could see this part of the city better.

After walking for about an hour, I had finally arrived at the grocery store. Thank god for GPS, otherwise I would have been lost on the way over here.

I went into the store, grabbed myself a trolley and went crazy in the store. It was a huge store, with everything that I needed and wanted in it.

By the time I checked out, I realized that I had a couple of big bags and no vehicle with me to transport them. I was about to walk back into the store, to ask them if they could help deliver the stuff to my place, when a voice stopped me.

“Hello, can I help you with the bags?” a deep baritone said from behind me.

I turned around to decline politely, when words got stuck in my throat. In front of me was one fine specimen of human being. He was tall, with curly brown hair and sparkling brown eyes. Even through his casual t-shirt, I could see his defined muscles.

I just kept staring at him, trying to get some words out from my mouth. It’s not like I hadn’t met handsome guys, but this guy almost seemed glowing with his bright smile and too white teeth.
